Mission

We believe in human artists creating human art. We're not betting on generative assets, we believe the soul of art is part of the creator. Today's pipelines are slow, over complicated and cumbersome. What if we could make a new way of working which lets us leverage industry standard techniques and workflows but make them funner, faster and more intuitive without complicated set ups and file dependencies, this is why we put so much love and effort into PolyPalette to ensure you enjoy your perfectly honed chisel, well balanced hammer, and frighteningly accurate and fast water jet cutter.

01

One tool, any DCC

Use it in 3ds Max software or Blender today, same feel, same result either way. The plugin for each host quietly handles the differences between them, so you're not relearning a tool or improvising a workaround depending on which one you opened this morning.

Share Assets

A Material, Model or Set you build in one program behaves the same way when it's opened in the other. You focus on the art, and the part that's actually fun.

Modules

TRIM

Trim, tile, texture

Trim map fast with a pick and apply system, automatic resolving of geometry to achieve the best results. Projection mapping and batching. Select from multiple textures all at once for ultimate speed using palettes.

HOTSPOT

Hotspot mapping, made automatic

HotSpot, a method for automatically texturing an asset based on the size of geometry faces, allows you to texture your assets complexly in an instant. Link hotspot textures with trims for ultimate flexibility and speed.

DECAL

Interactive mesh decals

Place a mesh decal directly on the face under your cursor. Orientation and scale follow the surface you clicked. Placing detail becomes the fun part, not the chore.

STRIP

Strip decals

Cables, panel seams, trim edges: strip decals run along a selected edge and handle length and width for you.

MATERIAL

Material Manager

Automatic material assignment and management of material presets. Auto build your scene's library, automatic material setup and saving.

MESH

Mesh Manager

Browse and create a library of mesh assets and place them into the scene with a click, the same interactive placement as mesh decals.

MCP

AI Assistant + MCP

Drive PolyPalette in 3ds Max software or Blender through MCP, apply a trim, run hotspot, place a decal, by asking instead of clicking. Works from the PolyPalette app or your own IDE.

TRIM

Trim, tile, texture

Select a face selection, pick a trim from the visual panel, and PolyPalette rewrites the UV coordinates to map that selection onto the chosen trim region. Two application paths cover flat surfaces and continuous edge-following geometry. A UV Adjustments panel exposes flip, rotate, nudge, scale, grow, and shrink afterward, without re-entering the UV editor.

HOTSPOT

Hotspot mapping, made automatic

Run it once and Hotspot analyses the geometry, groups connected faces by surface angle, measures their world-space dimensions, and ranks the available trims by aspect ratio and scale fit. The best match applies to every group automatically, no island-by-island work. Cylindrical geometry, strip-topology meshes, and material ID filtering are all handled as their own cases, and an allow-flip option adds visual variety without hurting the fit.

DECAL

Interactive mesh decals

Move the cursor over a surface and click to commit, the decal aligns to the surface normal and scales to your configured texel density automatically. While placing, rotate, scale, or swap to a different decal without cancelling. The placement strategy adapts to the curvature of the target surface, and Smart Modifier transfer plus Smart Instance placement carry your modifier stack and mesh instancing through to the new decal.

STRIP

Strip decals

Select an edge loop, pick a strip profile, and PolyPalette walks the edges, resolves branching junctions, and generates the strip geometry with UVs that handle corner turns and curvature changes correctly. Flat-ribbon and beveled-edge profiles are both supported, with strip width, push offset, and UV scale all configurable. Smoothing groups and hard edges from the target mesh carry through into the new geometry.

MATERIAL

Material Manager

Material Manager does two jobs. It automatically matches your scene's assigned materials against a set's Primary/Secondary/Tertiary slots and reports a confidence level for each match, so you're not hunting for the right sub-material by hand. Separately, it builds a persistent library of PBR materials scanned from your own set data, complete with rendered thumbnails, that you can browse and deploy straight onto any object's multi-sub slot across projects.

MESH

Mesh Manager

Mesh Manager keeps a browsable library of reusable mesh assets, each with a rendered thumbnail, and places them into your scene using the same click-to-commit interactive placement as mesh decals, oriented and scaled to the surface you clicked. Assets stay organised by catalog, so a prop library built on one project is ready to reuse on the next.

MCP

AI Assistant + MCP

PolyPalette exposes every button in the UI as an MCP tool, so an AI assistant, PolyPalette's own or one running in your own IDE, can apply a trim, run hotspot, place a decal, or switch tabs by being asked instead of clicked through. It's the same controller code path as the UI: one action, one result, whichever one triggered it.

03

The difference, directly

PolyPalette makes it fast, fluid, and fun. The manual method is fiddly, finicky, and frankly a bit dull.

Task By hand With PolyPalette
Get a trim onto a selection Unwrap the island, line it up against the sheet by eye, nudge until it stops sliding. Pick the trim, click apply. The UVs are rewritten for you.
Texture a whole asset Work island by island, matching each one to a trim by hand. Run Hotspot once. Every face group is measured, matched and applied.
Keep texel density honest Check it per object, fix the ones that drifted. New geometry lands at your configured density already.
Place a decal Create the mesh, align the transform to the surface, scale it by hand. Click the surface. Orientation and scale follow what you clicked.
Reuse a material setup Rebuild the same slots on the next asset, and the one after that. Material Manager matches your scene against your library and deploys it.
Move between 3ds Max software and Blender Relearn the tool, or redo the setup in the other package. Same tool, same result. Sets and materials open either side.

Pipelines, projects, people

PolyPalette doesn't write any proprietary objects or embedded code into your scene file. Trim assignments and hotspot UVs land as ordinary geometry and UV channels. An artist without the plugin installed can open a file someone else built with PolyPalette and nothing breaks.

With P4V support, your trim and hotspot sets live in Perforce like anything else in the pipeline: check out, edit, submit. The team works off a shared, iterative library instead of everyone keeping their own local copy in sync by hand.

06

Try it first

14 days with every module unlocked. No payment details are required, and PolyPalette does not need a connection to 3ds Max software or Blender to activate the trial.

The trial period begins at installation rather than at first use, so we recommend installing when you have a project to evaluate it against.

07

Licensing, laid out

Which licence applies to you is determined by the annual revenue of the entity using the software, and by how many machines need to run it. Both tiers are perpetual licences* and both include 2 years of maintenance from the date of purchase.

Indie, £100
Individual artists, and studios with annual revenue below £100,000. One activation, valid on one machine.
Studio, £150 per seat
Commercial teams with annual revenue of £100,000 or above. Purchased per seat, and each seat is valid on one machine.
Modules included
All seven modules are included in both tiers. The tiers differ in who is eligible to buy them and in how many machines they cover, not in what the software does.

Indie Access

Indie

£100

For individual artists, and studios with annual revenue below £100,000. One activation, valid on one machine. Includes all seven modules and 2 years of new 3ds Max software and Blender version support, renewable after that.

Studio Access

Studio

£150

For commercial teams with annual revenue of £100,000 or above. Purchased per seat, and each seat is valid on one machine. Includes all seven modules and 2 years of new 3ds Max software and Blender version support, renewable after that.

Not ready to buy?

Try PolyPalette free for 14 days. No modelling-software connection required to start it.

Already own a licence?

Maintenance renewal, £40, extends your update window 2 more years from the renewal date. Works for either tier.

*What "perpetual" covers: only your 2-year maintenance window is time-limited, not your right to use the software. Once it closes you keep the version you have, forever, exactly as it works today — you just stop getting new versions until you renew. A maintenance renewal (£40, above) resets the window 2 more years; it's optional, never automatic.

*14-day trial available first, either tier. No modeling-software connection required to start it. Covers 3ds Max 2024+ and Blender 4.1 LTS+.

*Requires an internet connection to activate your licence and each time you launch it. PolyPalette depends on our licence server to keep running, and may stop working if that service is permanently discontinued.

*PolyPalette is licensed, not sold. Purchase grants a licence to use the software under the terms of the EULA; it does not transfer ownership of a copy.
